Of the Fractured Sky Trilogy

He walked out of the Nevada desert eight years after he vanished. He doesn't even know he's been gone.

The catastrophe was stopped. The artifacts were supposed to be destroyed.

They weren't. A covert successor program called MERIDIAN now runs from the same Nevada mesa, holding all three nations' artifacts, answering to no one — and the men who kept the secret have reached a simple conclusion about how secrets stay kept.

Elena Sorokina finds a file she was never cleared to see, reports the error exactly as the rules require, and is marked. Nadia Vashkevich, a former Russian intelligence officer, has spent two years building a life that will let her get close enough. And four miles from the mesa, a man steps out of the dark who has been missing since 2018 and does not yet know it.

One by one, the people who pulled the world back from the brink are dying — in Helsinki, in Nevada, in ways that are meant to look like something else.

The machine that bends time is still running. The people doing the hunting have decided the safest version of a secret is one with no witnesses left alive.
